When RobotAddOns first contacted me and asked me to critique one of their new HEPA filters, I jumped at the chance. I love my Roomba Vacuums however I have never been very fond of the standard air filters available for them. I find time consuming to clean them - having to scrape off the debris with a little brush I purchased. And even after brushing, these standard air filters never really did become “completely clean” again, in my opinion. Therefore, I was very eager to see what RobotAddOns had developed and told them I would be more than happy to give their HEPA filters a good work out.
According to their specs, the new HEPA filter traps 99.97% of everything it gets hold of – and after using mine for well over a month now -- I believe it! I have two long haired dachshunds and a cat and I find it absolutely amazing (and frightening!) how much “junk” my regular filter was NOT capturing! In fact, I really had no idea until I emptied the dirt bin for the first time and saw the amount of debris that had accumulated on the HEPA filter.
These new HEPA filters are “Tops” in my book and I will not be without them for my robots! And are they ever easy to clean! No more scraping with my little brush, I simply remove the filter and turn it upside down over the trash can. The debris literally falls right off. Even though I find myself having to clean my new HEPA filters much more frequently - this is something I do not mind at all. Great job RobotAddOns – keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what you develop in the future!”
